About

On Saturday 23 March 2024, Proposition Camden hosted its Spring Open Studio, the first Open Studio of the year, bringing together local artists and creatives, a curated exhibition, live music, performances, and food and drink.

The event was inspired by Proposition’s exhibition Songs of Love, Death & Desire, which ran from 14–24 March 2024. Visitors were invited to meet artists and creatives from different backgrounds and disciplines in Proposition’s Chalk Farm building, experience and learn about their work, and explore the studios.

The event also welcomed Peng Femme Jam (PFJ) to The Venue at Proposition Camden for a series of live performances throughout the day.

Peng Femme Jam was born as a reaction to the male-dominated music and jam scene in London, and was designed as a gender-diverse live, improvised event. PFJ aimed to create an inclusive and nurturing space for women, queer and gender-diverse musicians — trans inclusive — to play together, build their musicianship, nurture their creativity and reach their potential as self-sufficient artists and musicians.

The Spring Open Studio offered visitors an opportunity to experience the vibrant art scene in London while supporting local artists and their community.
